Consistent quality for home-cooked meals

I've used Eatwith several times now, and this latest traditional home-cooked meal in Barcelona didn't disappoint. It was just as good as the other experiences I've had. The hosts are always so friendly and the food feels truly authentic. That's why I keep coming back – I know what to expect and it's always a good time. Booking was smooth like always, and the experience itself was great.

Good experience, one small snag

I tried a private dinner party in Paris through Eatwith. The food was excellent, and our host was very welcoming, which made for a unique evening. My only minor complaint was the communication about the exact address; it felt a little last minute, and I had to reach out to confirm. Overall though, it was a memorable experience and good value for what we paid.

Detailed review of a street food tour

I recently booked a street food tour in Mexico City with Eatwith, and I wanted to share my experience. The booking process online was straightforward, and I received a confirmation email almost instantly with all the details. Our guide was knowledgeable about the local cuisine and history, taking us to several hidden gems we never would've found otherwise. The quality of the food at each stop was excellent, really fresh and tasty. I had a question about dietary restrictions before the tour, and customer support responded within a few hours, which was helpful. The tour lasted about three hours, just as advertised, and we got plenty of food to try. My only suggestion would be for the meeting point instructions to include a photo, as it was a bit busy. But overall, a fantastic way to explore the city's food scene.

Fun pasta class!

I booked a pasta making workshop in Rome with Eatwith last month. It was pretty cool! The host was super nice and taught us how to make a few different kinds of pasta from scratch. Felt way more authentic than a regular cooking class. Had a blast and ate some delicious food.

Are the prices typically per person or sometimes for the whole group? Trying to budget for a private dinner.

A Amanda R. 3 days ago
It's almost always per person for experiences. For a private dinner, the host might quote a group price, but you'll see it clearly on the listing.

Most things are listed per person. If it's a private booking, you'd probably inquire directly with the host about group pricing.

Hey guys, wondering if anyone's had luck with first-time user discounts? Seeing a few codes floating around but not sure which ones are legit.

L Luke L. 1 month ago
Yeah, I got 10% off my first cooking class. Just sign up for their newsletter, it pops up pretty quick.

I think I got like ten bucks off my first one. Usually, they have something for new people, you just punch it in at checkout.

Considering a food tour in Lisbon. Is Eatwith generally better than, say, Viator for this kind of thing? Looking for something more authentic.

E Eric Rivera 2 weeks ago
Eatwith is definitely more about local hosts and often in their homes, so it feels more authentic than the big tour companies. Viator can be more commercial.

I'd say Eatwith leans more into unique, local experiences. If you want genuine, that's probably the way to go over the bigger sites.

Has anyone done one of these experiences with kids? Is it generally kid-friendly or more for adults?

S Steven K. 3 weeks ago
Some experiences specifically say they are family-friendly. I'd check the listing description. Not all hosts are set up for little ones.

I brought my 10 year old to a pizza making class in Florence, and it was awesome! But it definitely depends on the host and what the experience is.

What happens if a host cancels last minute? Do you get a full refund or a credit or what?

A Ashley 1 month ago
If the host cancels, you get a full refund. Happened to me once with a cooking class, money was back pretty fast.

D Danielle Moore 1 month ago
Yeah, they refund you. It's in their policy. Annoying when it happens but you don't lose your money.
